Saturday, August 24, 2024 Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced that Metro rail services will resume tomorrow with a revised schedule. The weekly closure will remain the same, with no Metro rail operations taking place on Fridays. Travelers are advised to consult the DMTCL’s official website and Facebook page for detailed travel instructions and updates.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Metro trains will not be stopping at Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations initially, and these stations will remain out of service until further notice. Under the new schedule, only passengers with MRT passes can travel on two early morning trains departing from Uttara Uttar Metro rail station at 7:10 am and 7:20 am. Similarly, only MRT pass holders will be allowed to board Metro trains departing from Motijheel Metro Rail Station after 9:13 pm.

Passengers without MRT passes can purchase single journey tickets at Metro rail stations between 7:20 am and 8:50 pm. During this period, travelers can also buy and top up their MRT passes. All ticketing offices and machines at Metro stations will cease operations after 8:50 pm.

In preparation for the resumption of services, DMTCL has implemented several safety measures to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience. Metro rail staff have undergone additional training to manage passenger flow and provide assistance as needed. Commuters are urged to follow all safety protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing while on board and at stations.

The company is committed to delivering a reliable and efficient service, making commuting in Dhaka more convenient for all passengers..
