If you’ve spent any amount of time playing Zenless Zone Zero, you’ll have probably come across the Hollow Zero game mode. In this mode, you must navigate through the TV screens and pick up various buffs by killing enemies and clearing objectives to reach the end. In a lot of ways, this is ZZZ’s version of the Simulated Universe in Honkai Star Rail but arguably implemented much worse.

Hollow Zero has been drawing in a lot of complaints since the game launched, mostly due to how many times you have to clear it and how long it takes to do one run. Your incentive to clear the mode, by the way, is because you can earn Polychrome by clearing weekly tasks tied to your run. One big problem about this mode, as many in the game’s community have pointed out, is how many times you have to clear it.

The good news is that a post has surfaced about what we can expect in patch 1.1 and onwards, and it seems like HoYoverse is listening to the people. As per a thread on r/ZZZ_Official, HoYo is working on reducing the number of runs it takes to clear your weekly tasks in Hollow Zero.

The post, titled “ “, shares an image seemingly showing this information. The post isn’t in English, but all the comments agree that the post’s title is correct, with one person heaping praise on the move: “Thank CHRIST. Each run of HZ takes like 22-25 minutes.

..and you need to do it 5 times.

..EVERY WEEK”.

Another says: “I’m all for this, 3 runs a week should be a good starting point”. Another comment simply reads: “2 runs is perfect”. While we are unable to find the official source for this information, it seems like this is something HoYovere is planning on adding to the game.

The comments mostly agree that changes need to happen for this game mode, especially when you consider the limited roster and the fact the runs in Hollow Zero aren’t RNG and are more themed. We’ve certainly felt this frustration when running Hollow Zero. The runs take a lot of time and they aren’t the most engaging things to do.

It involves a lot of TV exploration, which is as simple as clicking and following a path in ZZZ. One comment mentions that the Hollow Zero mode could be greatly enhanced if it featured gameplay similar to the Rally Commissions, which would see you run around the 3D world and help keep things engaging. Sadly, we have to wait until patch 1.

1 to see what the purported changes to Hollow Zero will look like, and that will be sometime in August. If the changes are implemented then or at a later date, remains to be seen. Jack Webb is a guides writer for VideoGamer.
