Shahid Kapoor’s latest offering, the cop drama Deva , has not managed to set the box office on fire, collecting under Rs. 10 crore on its opening day. According to reports, the film opened to “dismal” numbers in mass circuits despite having a “decent occupancy” in urban areas.

Deva , directed by Rosshan Andrews, stars Shahid Kapoor alongside Pooja Hegde. It is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam hit Mumbai Police, but with an altered climax. Despite the star power and the promise of an engaging narrative, the film’s performance has been underwhelming.
