GHAZIABAD : The illegal dumping of cattle dung from dairies , demolition waste, and garbage has reached alarming levels along several major roads in the city. One such area in siddharth vihar has heaps of waste along it. “this irresponsible dumping not only mars the beauty of our surroundings but also poses significant environmental risks, including groundwater contamination and soil degradation.

every piece of trash dumped illegally has a ripple effect on our environment. this roadside dumping has become a very common sight all over ghaziabad,” said NK Negi, a resident of the area. “the authorities have been overlooking this grave concern regarding environmental pollution .

the cleanliness drives are all over social media but nothing changes on-ground,” said Sneha, another resident. residents went on to add that the stench is not the only issue here, as the garbage also attracts cattle and stray animals to the trash heaps. “i have noticed the garbage, but have not spotted people throwing the trash.

what amuses me is that no one seems to want to do anything about the garbage. is it such a big issue that one can’t handle it?” said resident Rahul Dey. another resident, priti singh, said that the traffic along with the sight of mounds of garbage along this road makes driving in the area depressing.

proper monitoring is a must at the chronic garbage spots, residents noted. “the authorities must prioritise regular garbage collection and strictly enforce laws to prevent roadside dumping. public education campaigns to raise awareness about the impacts of roadside garbage should be organised.

they must promote responsible waste disposal practices across the city,” said another resident. meanwhile, an official from awas vikas parishad said that they will check the location and take necessary action soon..
