DEMOCRATIC Mayor Tiffany Henyard was called out by a whistleblower for engaging in unethical behavior throughout her tenure. The mayor of Dolton, Illinois , has been accused of living a life of luxury and misusing funds. "Today, I am breaking my silence and speaking out against Thornton Township Supervisor and Mayor of Dolton Tiffany Henyard, who I believe has engaged in unethical and predatory behavior throughout her tenure," Carmen Carlisle, a Thornton Township trustee, told local CW affiliate WGN-TV .

"For the past two years, Henyard has manipulated employees, vendors, and residents, using her position to increase her influence, all while projecting a false image of success, funded by the hardworking taxpayers of Thornton Township and the Village of Dolton." Carlisle shared that at a recent board meeting, she didn't raise any questions about lavish trips or strange spending charged to taxpayers in the township. "I trusted the administration," she said on August 15.

"I am standing up, not just for myself, but for others who have been affected by what I see as Henyard’s abusive leadership," she told the outlet. "I believe there are many more victims who have been retaliated against, fired, or lied to by Henyard, but have yet to speak out,'' she said.

Henyard slammed Carlisles' claims at a meeting earlier this month, calling her "Lyin' Carlisle" in front of a packed audience. Most read in The US Sun "I'm tired of everyone in here. There always has to be a show.

" Earlier this month, an angry constituent released an open letter to Governor JB Pritzker slamming Henyard, accusing her of misappropriating funds, obstructing justice, and other offenses. "I am one of the residents who is tired of making public comments at board meetings which never lead to any action by the Henyard administration," the letter read. "We are tired of hearing Tiffany’s anger at those critical of her, and toward the news media who report accurately.

" The letter claimed that Henyard would call criticisms of her "fake news ," telling residents to do research to get the whole story. "However, her lack of transparency and orders to block FOIA requests prevent us from doing our research." ALLY CHARGED One of Henyard's allies, Deputy Police Chief Lewis Lacey, was slapped with a nine-count indictment for bankruptcy fraud and other charges.

Lacey had been accused of hiding assets and income to dupe creditors and avoid paying a settlement tied to a previous lawsuit, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois. He filed several personal bankruptcy cases in Illinois, including in 2019 and 2020. This prevented the courts from enforcing a settlement agreement that was reached between Lacey and a plaintiff in a 2017 lawsuit in which he owed $43,000 out of a $55,000 payment, according to prosecutors.

Lewis has long supported Henyard, who took office in 2021. Henyard herself was arrested in 2016 and charged with criminal trespass to vehicles, according to Chicago Police records. However, it's unclear what happened to those charges.

Henyard has described herself as "The most powerful woman in the Southland of Chicago " and a "#SuperMayor" on her Instagram bio. She receives a salary of $46,000 as mayor but through herself as the Thornton Township supervisor, she earns a massive $224,000 a year. She also sparked controversy after proposing a law that would cut the township supervisor's salary by 90% if she loses in a future election, per the Fox affiliate WFLD-TV .
