Delta Air Lines has been praised by industry insiders and customers alike for its premium-focused strategy. In the past two decades, the carrier went from bankruptcy and a deteriorating product to consistently being one of the most profitable airlines in the US. While its product and global network tend to be the carrier's greatest sources of differentiation, Delta has taken some smaller initiatives to stand out in an increasingly competitive industry.
In late 2023, the airline opened a retail store dubbed the Window Seat Shop at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Now, the Atlanta-based carrier is expanding on this concept by opening a second shop in the Pacific Northwest.
What Passengers Can Expect According to One Mile At A Time , the new retail store will open at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on November 23rd. The shop will be located in Terminal A near the Delta Sky Club, and the carrier claims that this store will be “a new way to grow your world.” The Window Seat Shop will focus on selling globally inspired material from cultures worldwide.
Delta has not unveiled the products it intends to sell in the new West Coast location. Still, some of the items sold in New York include Egyptian dessert plates designed with patterns of Ra, Hawaii-inspired canvas bags, Brazilian soap stone carvings, and an Arabian Nights cosmetic kit from the United Arab Emirates.
