Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines has made some adjustments to its New York regional schedule this Fall. After a five-year break, the carrier will resume service between the Big Apple and Chattanooga, Tennessee, but will also drop three other routes from the market. Additionally, the airline will introduce new routes from Salt Lake City and Detroit hubs to Northwest Arkansas.

The service will also be operated by regional aircraft . Not served since 2019 Delta filed the changes to its New York network earlier this month, according to Aeroroutes . Beginning October 7th, the carrier will resume flights between LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA).

According to the carrier, it will be the first time the airline will serve the route since 2019. The route will be offered six times weekly on a Bombardier CRJ900 , operated by Delta’s wholly-owned regional subsidiary, Endeavor Air, under the Delta Connection brand. DL4925 is scheduled to depart from LGA at 19:45 and will arrive at CHA around a quarter after 22:00 local time.

The return flight, DL4995, has a scheduled departure of 07:00 from CHA, arriving just after 09:00 at LGA. Ending three routes With the addition of LGA-CHA, there will be some cuts. Delta will cut flights between LGA and Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 6th.

At the end of the month, the airline will end two routes from its John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) . On October 26th, Delta will operate its last flights to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

The CRJ900 also operates these flights. Georgia-based Lauren Benton remains puzzled about why the individual was following her family and could board her flight without a booking. A Delta spokesperson confirmed the schedule changes in a statement to Simple Flying earlier this month.

“Delta confirms it will launch new 1x daily LGA-CHA service on Oct. 7 while canceling its LGA-BDL and JFK-YUL/BWI markets this winter to better align capacity with demand. Affected customers will be proactively notified by Delta and re-accommodated accordingly.

” Despite the flight cuts, Delta still has a strong presence at BDL. With service from its other hubs in Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Detroit, the carrier's number of seats offered has increased 8% year-over-year.

Regarding JFK-YUL, Delta flies between LGA and YUL three times daily and will continue to do so. While the JFK-BWI route will end, the airline will maintain its service between LGA and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and JFK to DCA and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). New service to Northwest Arkansas Delta is also focused on growing its route networks at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

According to aviation data and analytics provider Cirium , the carrier will begin daily service to Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) from the two airports. It comes as ViaSat’s new VS3 F1 Satellite entered service last week. Service between DTW and XNA is set to begin in November on the CRJ900, while the SLC-XNA route is not scheduled to commence until February 2025.

SkyWest Airlines will operate the route on the Embraer E175 ..
