SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. — Throughout its 12-game win streak, the headlines about Duluth East revolved around the Greyhounds' dynamic scoring. With 37 combined goals and 25 assists, the tandem of sophomore Lilly Kuettel and freshman Darby Friday helped lift East to its first state tournament since 2010.

“Edina has some absolute elite players, they were picking corners and they hit some of them. When we were down 3-0 we had to try to open it up to get one back. You open it up against Edina and they put two back in on us.
