Earlier this year, it was confirmed the game would be released at some point in 2025 but after radio silence, some fans began to suspect the sequel might be delayed.

However at the Tokyo Game Show, Kojima confirmed the game was still on track for a 2025 launch. “I haven’t said the release date today, but the release date has already been decided, and I’m currently working on it in preparation for that,” he said yesterday (September 29). “It will be released next year, so we will announce [the release date] at some point next year.



But, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we cannot announce it today,” he added (via VGC ). To keep fans happy though, the special presentation did feature almost eight-minutes of new footage which has since been uploaded to social media. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
