In a recent interview, Dhawan was asked about the rise of OTT platforms and the impact they have had on theatrical releases. The director didn’t hold back in his response. Dhawan asserts that the excitement of watching films in theatres remains undiminished.
He recognises that, although OTT platforms provide filmmakers with a refuge from media scrutiny and box office pressures, they cannot replicate the unique experience offered by theatres. He boldly remarked, “Theater aao aur aukaat dikhao (Come to the theatre and show your worth).” by in Emphasising the magic of the big screen, Dhawan contrasts the theatrical experience with OTT, acknowledging the pandemic-forced digital release of his last film.
Meanwhile, rumours of David Dhawan joining hands with his son Varun Dhawan for a rom-com have been circulating on the internet for a while now. According to recent updates, the film has been titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. According to Pinkvilla, Ramesh Taurani’s production has been titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
“It’s a quirky title in sync with the world that David Dhawan is looking to create with Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Sreeleela. It’s a fun family entertainer with the love triangle of the trio at the centre.
