frontman Dave Grohl and his marriage with wife Jordyn Blum is on the rocks after it recently came out that he welcomed a child with another woman. Last week the former drummer shocked the world when he announced on Instagram that he fathered a love child. In the post, he noted that he was doing “everything” he could to “regain" the trust of Jordyn and their children, Violet, Harper, and Ophelia.
A source close to Jordyn revealed to People that they had known about Dave’s baby news “for a while.” Another friend of Jordyn claims that she was “shocked” to learn that welcomed a child outside of their marriage. "She was shocked when she found out about the baby.
Her friends are like family, and they rallied around her," the friend told the news outlet. Throughout the years, "Dave's flirty behavior has been a hurdle in their marriage. It's been hurtful to Jordyn," they added.
Among the plethora of fans who were surprised that Dave had a baby during his marriage, those close to the couple weren’t that taken aback. “We keep reading over and over again how heartbroken everyone is because Dave was supposed to be the ‘good guy,' the rockstar that didn’t have to do those rockstar things," an insider who knows the couple revealed to People. "And people are crazy about the guy, but there is a rockstar side.
" Furthermore, a source explained that Jordyn and Dave’s union often "felt like an opposites attract type of [relationship]." The two have been married since 2003. Until Dave’s controversial confession, the pair seemed like a good fit.
In July, Dave and Jordyn were pictured laughing next to each other and chopping it up with Duran Duran rocker Simon Le Bon. Amid the ongoing drama, the rock star and former MTV producer are focusing on their children. "I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness," Dave expressed in his Instagram post last Tuesday.
"We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together." One source praised that Jordyn was “a great mom and very dedicated to their daughters." Dave’s daughters Violet and Harper deactivated their Instagram accounts following the news of their dad’s cheating scandal.
