In a bold rescue operation, teams were airlifted to the forested regions of Sunrise Valley in Wayanad district on Tuesday to locate individuals missing from the landslide-affected areas. The rescue squad, consisting of six army personnel, four members of the Special Action Group of the Kerala Police, and two forest watchers, was transported to the remote location by helicopter. Early in the morning, they were airlifted in two groups from the grounds of a local school in Kalpetta.

They managed to descend into the area using ropes and baskets. After completing the search in the designated area, the rescue team was airlifted to the next location. According to the Chief Minister's office, an advanced light helicopter, capable of airlifting and dropping people in difficult terrains, was utilized for the mission.
