The wife of former rugby player Danny Cipriani has revealed that she has filed for divorce – citing his alleged drug use as the driving reason for the collapse of their marriage. The former England rugby star, 36, announced that he had split from his healthcare campaigner wife in November , following two years of marriage. In a since-deleted statement, Victoria Rose O’Callaghan, 42, described how she felt as though she had been ‘knifed in the heart’ after he publicly announced their breakup ‘without prior notice.
’ The pair had wed in an intimate ceremony in April 2021, after only 11 months of dating. In a statement to his Instagram posted in November 2023, Danny wrote: ‘Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after 4 years of marriage.’ And now, nine months after their split, Victoria Rose, 42, has spoken out on their time as a married couple – revealing how his drug use, messages to other women and relationship to an American actress left her feeling ‘humiliated.
’ Speaking to The Sun , Victoria revealed how her husband’s alleged drug use took its toll on their marriage – claiming that the sports star would spend around £400 to £600 on narcotics. ‘He is so into psychedelics that I don’t believe he knows what is reality and what is not,’ she told the tabloid. She continued: ‘I got so sick of it.
It started to upset me. Everyday he said he wouldn’t do drugs. Then by midday he’d be back on them.
’ Claiming that Danny would munch his way through magic mushroom-laced chocolate bars and prescription drugs, Victoria revealed how one occasion left him so debilitated that he ‘just lay on the floor.’ ‘The thing with Danny is, he could be on mushrooms and talking to you and you would have no idea. He functions so well,’ Victoria said.
She continued: ‘Then he has times he will take lots to get high and be on another planet. Most of the time it was taking small amounts. Constantly eating bits of the chocolate throughout the day, ‘I thought I would be able to help him and he said he wanted to stop taking drugs.
Danny was taking loads of prescription drugs and I just said “enough is enough.” She also claims that their marriage came under further pressure when she became aware of his messaging other women. ‘I was shocked, heartbroken.
They weren’t sexts but they were telling women they were beautiful, and the connections he felt to them. Not the kind of thing you want to read your husband sending,’ she said. ‘I knew his reputation but thought he was a new person,’ she continued.
‘He left, I was heartbroken. Then he got together with AnnaLynne.’ Months after their split, Danny confirmed his new relationship with 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord, sharing the news on his Instagram account in April this year.

Loving you is the easiest thing in the world,’ he wrote as he posted a series of pictures from their holiday to Egypt together. This caused Victoria Rose to hit back, slamming her ex-husband in a since-deleted post to her own Instagram. ‘Nice to see my husband has moved on but his belongings and clothes in our house, in our drawers still haven’t moved on.
Can you send me a miracle please? Can you answer the lawyer’s letter so I can keep my car? All the best. Lots of love your ever patient wife,’ the post read. Metro.
