Daniel Farke has set Leeds a 20-point promotion target to sidestep their play-off curse. Leeds returned top of the Championship after their sensational last-gasp 2-1 win over promotion rivals Sunderland and are seven points clear of Burnley in third place. Farke has told his players to keep going and wants to take at least 20 points from their remaining 13 games to secure a top-two place.
Leeds have failed in all six of their play-off attempts, going back to 1987, and Farke wants automatic promotion. Leeds finished third last season with 90 points and the Leeds boss believes 92 should be enough to secure a top-two spot. Farke has history on his side and Leeds atoned for their play-off defeats in 2009 and 2019 by securing automatic promotion the following season.
