Vadodara: The Dahod collector has ordered that offences be registered with police regarding all forged orders used to make entries in land records . Such orders made in the names of various govt officials were used in large numbers in the district. The irregularities had come to light in June and investigations were conducted by Dahod police.
During the investigations, they got details of more cases, hinting at large-scale irregularities. While officials refused to share details and the number of such cases, they said both the local administration and state govt officials had dug up several. Sources said the cases pertain to making forged orders for conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural, as well as orders facilitating the sale of land owned by tribals to non-tribals.
The sale of land to non-tribal needs special permission. The collector ordered that officials should ensure that offences are registered in all cases where orders were forged..
