Vadodara: The Union education ministry has granted a one-year extension as vice-chancellor of Central University of Gujarat (CUG) to Professor Rama Shanker Dubey . On Monday, the ministry issued an official order extending his tenure. The extension was granted under the powers vested by the Central University Act, 2009, by the President of India, who is CUG's visitor.

"Professor Dubey's five-year term was set to end on Nov 21, 2024. The order extends his tenure for up to one more year or until the appointment of a new VC," CUG's public relations officer, Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma, said on Tuesday. Dubey said construction of the permanent campus of CUG is at its final stages.



"During my extended tenure, the university will be officially and fully relocated from Gandhinagar to the Kundhela campus in Vadodara, ensuring its complete operationalization," Dubey said..
