CUBA — The Cuba-Rushford girls volleyball team has won three matches in-a-row for the second time this season after beating Wellsville 25-22, 25-15, 25-17. The Rebels’ win put an end to Wellsville’s four-game win streak. Kendal Tompkins led C-R (7-5) with 27 assists, nine digs, three kills and two aces.
Alongside her was Lilah Stroud who had nine kills, Raegan Poore who had eight kills and a block and Arlah Shaffer who finished with 11 digs and an ace. Natalie Adams had nine kills and eight digs for Wellsville (7-4). She was backed up by Makenna Dunbar’s nine digs, six kills and three blocks.
“It was a big win for us today,” C-R coach Josh Tompkins said. “We finally put it together for three sets against a solid team. I am looking forward to pushing forward through the end of the season and seeing where we can go.
” BOLIVAR — Bolivar-Richburg secured a bounce-back win in commanding fashion over Genesee Valley/Belfast (25-6, 25-17, 25-7) after dropping its previous match. Carmen Crowley led the Wolverines (8-2) with 11 kills and six aces. Jayna Thomas added five kills and three digs, Willow Worth provided 13 assists and Hannah Mascho recorded seven aces in the win as well.
Enasjah Koontz-Gibbs had four aces, three digs and a kill for GV/BC (2-8). Paizlee Tilton had two kills and an ace and Emalee Carman provided six assists and an ace. HOUGHTON — After dropping the first set, Fillmore rallied back to take its match against Houghton in four sets.
