Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Crystal, renowned for offering outstanding cruise experiences, is excited to announce the appointment of Mario Parodi as the new Vice President of Itinerary Planning and Port & Fuel Operations, effective September 1st. Parodi’s extensive expertise and experience will be a valuable asset to the team, enhancing the brand’s operations and strategic planning. Hailing from Genova, Italy, Parodi has a deep maritime background, having graduated from the Nautical Institute in Genova in 1985.
His career began in the Italian Navy before he took on the role of Deck Officer on cargo and cruise ships. After his time at sea, Parodi managed Port Operations for Evergreen at the port of Genova Voltri before relocating to the United States. He served as a Port Agent for eight years before joining Prestige Cruise Holdings in 2008.
By March 2015, he had risen to the position of Vice President of Port Operations & Itinerary Planning for Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings, where he oversaw port operations and global itinerary planning for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Most recently, Parodi was with Atlas Ocean Voyages, where he gained valuable experience in Expedition cruising—a skill set that will be pivotal as Crystal aims to expand its own Expedition fleet. “We are so pleased to welcome Mario to the Crystal family,” said Roberto Fazi, SVP Marine Operations at Crystal .
