Friday, October 18, 2024 Throughout October, Crown Reef Beach Resort and Waterpark is casting a pink glow over its facade each evening to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This striking illumination honors those impacted by breast cancer and underscores the resort’s dedication to advancing research and awareness efforts in partnership with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative. The resort, along with other Vacation Myrtle Beach properties, is engaging in a series of fundraising efforts to support breast cancer research and aid patients.

These efforts include soliciting donations from guests and hosting various fundraising events to foster community involvement among visitors and staff in support of this cause. Earlier in the month, Crown Reef had the privilege of hosting the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Beach Walk. This event drew over 340 participants, including more than 60 teams and 60 breast cancer survivors, who walked to raise funds and awareness for the cause.

To date, these efforts have collectively raised over $160,000, contributing significantly to vital research and patient care services. “We are incredibly proud to light our resort pink and contribute to the fight against breast cancer,” said Matt Klugman, Chief Operating Officer at Vacation Myrtle Beach. “This cause is deeply personal to many of our guests and team members, and we are committed to standing with survivors and those currently battling this.
