The CPI (ML) Mass Line district secretary, Gokinepalli Venkateswarlu addressing the gathering complained that the Congress government which offered free travel for women scheme was diluting it by reducing the number of bus services. Due to the lack of sufficient number of buses women, students and unemployed were not able to use the scheme properly.
The number of services should be increased according to the number of passengers, he demanded. The bus services should be renewed on the canceled rural routes and the obsolete buses should be withdrawn from service. The passengers were facing many problems in outdated buses and there were no proper bus services to reach towns from rural areas for educational, employment and health needs, Venkateswarlu noted.
