Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Marking 14 years of their official partnership with the National Football League, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Bonvoy are launching exciting fan activations in São Paulo, Brazil. These events aim to introduce American football to the local audience and celebrate the historic occasion of Brazil hosting its first regular season NFL game as part of the league’s 2024 International Games. Bringing the Thrill of American Football to São Paulo The festivities will kick off with a Kicking Challenge, a unique event designed to bring the essence of American football to São Paulo.

Local fans will be invited to test their skills by attempting to kick a field goal, a challenge that contrasts with scoring a soccer goal. In a city renowned for its soccer talent, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Bonvoy are offering a new experience by encouraging fans to score an extra point—a feat equivalent to a 33-yard (30-meter) field goal. A Taste of the American Tailgate Experience Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Bonvoy® will also host the Tailgate Experience, São Paulo’s first American football tailgate event, at Arena Renaissance in downtown São Paulo.



This iconic American pregame tradition will feature classic American dishes such as burgers and chicken wings, alongside activities like cornhole, perfect spiral throwing, and football pong. This event promises to bring the excitement of a U.S.

pregame atmosphere to both visiting fans and local Brazilians. Fans will be thrilled with a surprise appearance by NFL legend Jordy Nelson. The Kicking Challenge will be held at Ibirapuera Park, across from the Monumento as Bandeiras, at R. Manuel da Nóbrega, 1745 – Jardins, from September 3 to September 5, 2024, between 11 AM and 5 PM. “GAME ON! We are excited to celebrate the first-ever regular-season NFL game in South America.
