According to the e-commerce giant, it launched the service on Tuesday with over 20 luxury brands opening their stores on R.LUX. R.
LUX combines the words "luxury" and "rocket," the latter referring to Coupang's same-day or next-day Rocket Delivery service. Developed as a vertical service, a business practice providing specialized products for a specific segment, R.LUX is distinguished from other luxury vertical services by allowing direct purchases of carefully selected luxury brand products and delivering them fast to customers, Coupang said.
R.LUX was launched as a standalone app to provide consumers with an immersive shopping experience, but existing Coupang users can use the service seamlessly without a separate sign-up process as it is available in the existing Coupang app. Coupang said it emphasized giving R.
LUX a luxurious design to provide customers with distinguished shopping experiences of luxury brands. All items on R.LUX are purchased directly by Coupang and guaranteed authentic by the brands.
Products purchased on R.LUX are delivered the same day or the next day in luxurious custom packages. More than 20 luxury brands, including SK-II, Rene Furterer, Estee Lauder, Sulwhasoo, Biotherm and The Whoo, are availa.
