At last report, actor/filmmaker Kevin Costner’s four-part Western “Horizon: An American Saga” remains stalled, with some believing the ambitious project is dead. The first film opened on June 28th theatrically and generated just $38.2 million in box-office.

As a result the second film, which was screened at Venice in September, has yet to set a release date. Costner began production on the third film in May but has seemingly run out of money and so is seeking financing to complete what’s left. In a new interview with , Costner says he’s been having meetings with some of the richest people in the world to try and complete his dream: “I’m hoping, I’m dreaming, I’m meeting all the billionaires that we all hear about – they’re all hiding in the shadows.

I’m don’t know how I’m going to do it, but I’m going to make [Chapter 3] and then I’m going to make the fourth one. And if you want to say ‘the end’ at that point, then that’s the end. It’s my own private UFO.

I’ve seen it, and I will never forget it, and I chase it as long as I can. ..

. I will figure out a way to bring you 3 and 4, because you’ve gone to 1 and you’re gonna go to 2, and we’re all gonna go west together.” Costner reportedly only shot just over a week of footage on the third film before it was shut down due to lack of funds.
