All of the Budget 2025 measures are set to be announced on Tuesday 1st October, but they have reportedly already signed off on a €250 energy credit. The energy credit will be returning following last year's budget where households were awarded credits worth €450. Before the end of the year, all Irish households will receive a credit worth €250.

The credits, called the Electricity Costs Emergency Benefit Scheme, were originally announced in Budget 2023 but were continued in Budget 2024 and will continue in Budget 2025. The Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU) is overseeing the scheme.
