The payment dates for both energy credits has been confirmed. The government is giving out two energy credits worth €125 each to all households in the coming months in order to help with the cost of electricity during the winter months. The move was announced as part of Budget 2025.

The credits this year are significantly lower than the €450 energy credits that were paid out in three lump sums as part of last year’s budget or the €600 credits paid out in a similar fashion in as part of Budget 2023. The credits, called the Electricity Costs Emergency Benefit Scheme, were originally announced in Budget 2023 but were continued in Budget 2024 and will continue in Budget 2025.
