Kym Marsh admitted she was 'very emotional' on Wednesday's BBC Breakfast as she spoke about the baby loss certificate scheme. The former Coronation Street star, 48, sadly lost her baby boy Archie in 2009 after he was born 18 weeks prematurely. This week marks Baby Loss Awareness Week and it was recently announced that parents who have experienced the loss of a baby early in pregnancy will now be able to apply to have their child’s life officially recognised regardless of how much time has passed.
The Government has announced it will extend the baby loss certificate scheme, which launched in February for those who had experienced a loss since September 2018. There will now be no time limit on the initiative, with certificates available for any parent who has experienced a loss before 24 weeks, or 28 weeks if the loss occurred before October 1992. Appearing on Wednesday's BBC Breakfast to talk about the update in the baby loss certificate scheme and mark Baby Loss Awareness Week, Kym admitted:"Well, I'm very emotional this morning actually so I apologise if I start to get upset! "These certificates mean so much as we've heard already it makes your baby not just a statistic, my Archie was here, I gave birth to him, I held him, we had a funeral, he mattered, he mattered to all of us.
"For us to not get anything that recognised he was here was absolutely heartbreaking because he was a little person and he was our little person." Talking about the update in the baby loss certific.
