A group of Coronation Street stars looked so different from their soap characters - as they headed abroad for a well-deserved holiday. Dee-Dee Bailey actress Channique Sterling Brown has been at the centre of a huge storyline as of late, after finally learning the truth about what her husband-to-be Joel Deering has been up to. Fans have known for months that Joel Deering was the one responsible for attacking and leaving Lauren Bolton for dead - but the other residents are just learning he's behind it all.
Now Channique and her soap colleagues have headed on a holiday to Rome, Italy. Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, Charlotte Jordan , who plays Daisy Midgeley and Tanisha Gorey , who plays Asha Alahan, also enjoyed sun-soaked Rome. The group shared several pictures from their trip as scenes air on the ITV soap with Dee-Dee front and centre as she realises the truth about what Joel did - as his part in the wider grooming of young and vulnerable women is revealed.
Sharing snaps from the holiday, one post was captioned: "When the girl's trip gets out of the group chat," revealing that they had been planning their getaway for some time. In other snaps, on-screen rivals Charlotte and Lucy posed together in matching outfits. Fans loved the pictures and videos, with one writing: "Gorgeous girlies!" whilst a second added: "everyone wake up we got charlie and lucy content !!!" Sally Carman , who plays Abi Webster, shared in the comments: "Crazy beautiful, the pair of you.
" It comes after Channique teased Joel's downfall was coming, insisting it will have long term effects on her character. She said: "We've been filming all the lead-up to Joel's downfall. I think he's playing a very dangerous game and he's walking on thin ice.
It's been fun, because it's been like planning a wedding but also exploring this different side of their relationship, where he's really deliberately deceiving her to keep his lies and his other life undercover. "Obviously Dee-Dee is a smart woman, so she's definitely picking up on his signals. I think it's going to be a real time of turmoil for Dee-Dee whenever the truth does come out.
I think she will be questioning her judgement of character – and her judgement in general." It has been confirmed this storyline will lead to an eventual exit for Joel Deering, who is played by Calum Lill. There will be no way Joel can stay on the Cobbles - but whether he goes to prison, or manages to escape justice, remains to be seen.
