Coronation Street fans have said 'that's more like it' after they were left sharing a complaint about Paul Foreman's heartbreaking send-off. The character died in tear-jerking scenes last month, 17 months after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The character, who was played by Peter Ash for six years, was laid to rest in scenes aired in the ITV soap this week.

Paul's funeral, which sparked a divide between Bernie Winter and Billy Mayhew, arrived during Wednesday night's (October 2) trip to Weathefield and Billy took the lead in conducting the service at the church where he and Paul had married just a year earlier. But as the emotional service came to an end, Bernie's emotions got the better of her and she took revenge for Billy letting Paul's estranged father Denny Foreman attend the funeral. They argued over which one had best supported Paul when Bernie eventually confessed that Billy hadn't spoken to Paul on the phone like he thought, as he rushed to be by his side in the hospital, as he'd already died. The news left Billy heartbroken and he later showed up to Paul's wake at the Rovers Return drunk, before being escorted home by Todd Grimshaw. As the latter offered words of comfort and sup.
