Plans for over 100 luxury holiday lodges and another large solar farm are among the latest planning applications submitted to . Every week more than 100 applications are validated by Cornwall Council and we have selected some of the more interesting proposals. All planning applications submitted to the council have to be validated and are available for inspection by the public.
Anyone is also allowed to submit comments about the applications - whether in support or objection. The majority of applications are decided by planning officers at the council under delegated powers. However, some applications will go before elected councillors who sit on planning committees.
No dates have been set for when the planning applications below will be determined. They can be viewed by going to the planning portal on Cornwall Council’s website. Seasons Holiday Plc has applied to site up to 140 luxury holiday lodges on land at Coastal Resort.
The hybrid application seeks the siting of the holiday accommodation (under the Caravan Act 1968) "optimising Bude Coastal Resort to deliver high-end, year-round holiday accommodation for Cornwall. The development is set across seven landscaped parcels of land and the proposals will incorporate bases for siting the accommodation, decking, new access roads, pedestrian and cycle infrastructure, landscaping and water features". The application site measures 17.
3 hectares and adjoins the existing estate which includes 32 luxury self-catering accommodation units, in addition to 16 recent lodges with a further 11 due by the end of the year, and a club house with restaurant and spa. The planning application is submitted in hybrid form, with three of the land parcels and the site access delivered in full, accounting for up to 58 units, and the remaining four land parcels and associated public open space delivered in outline, accounting for up to a further 82 units. Plans have been submitted by energy company EDF Renewables to build a large solar farm on 19 fields between and . If approved, the Trelion solar farm would provide enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 9,500 homes a year. EDF Renewables' plan is for a 49.
9MWac photovoltaic solar array with ancillary infrastructure, landscaping and "biodiversity enhancements" on land near Green Acres Farm, Scarcewater, near Grampound Road and St Stephen. It is proposed for a 40-year operational period on a site that measures 82.5 hectares.

Five static caravans for use as tourist accommodation are proposed for land near Lower Clicker Road, Menheniot, near . Native landscaping would be proposed to enclose the areas and provide privacy screening. A package treatment plant would accommodate foul drainage water.

The council has received a proposal to fit solar panels as roofing for the bridge section of the Calstock village public pontoon, to provide energy to recharge the electric ferry. The pontoon provides landing facilities for local boats and visitors, including a weekly ferry from Plymouth operating in summer.
It is also the base for a new local ferry service, linking the Tamara Way coast-to-coast walking trail, where it crosses the river at Calstock.
