The Irish Cancer Society will have a Breast Cancer Information Sand in Penneys, Wilton Shopping Centre, Cork from 10am – 5pm this Wednesday, 2nd October. And if you know somebody who could benefit from expert medical advice in a friendly, relaxed setting, make sure to let them know that this is happening. There will be specialist cancer care nurses on hand with all the information and advice women need, it's free of charge and it's very practical.
Throughout the month of October, to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Irish Cancer Society is bringing its Breast Cancer Information Stands to 11 Penneys stores nationwide, from Letterkenny to Cork, Sligo to Dublin and everywhere in between. Other Munster dates include Tralee, October 7th and Limerick, October 10th. Irish Cancer Society Cancer Awareness Nurses will be on hand at each information stand to provide free information and advice on breast cancer, and crucially, demonstrate how to carry out breast self-checks for potential signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
They will be reminding women of the eight key signs and symptoms of breast cancer: While 9 in 10 breast changes will turn out not to be breast cancer, it is important to rule it out. For any breast cancer related queries, please contact the Irish Cancer Society Support Line on freephone 1800 200 700 or email [email protected].
