Cork hurling legend Patrick Horgan played fiercely in today's All-Ireland hurling final in Croke Park, but it was Clare who lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup after an intense and nail biting fight to the finish. Patrick made history on Sunday when he became the top-score in the history of the All-Ireland senior hurling championship. He celebrated the bitter-sweet finale to the match by sharing a sweet moment with his son, Jack.

Two year old Jack clung to his Dad's hurl as the gold confetti littering the ground caught his attention. Patrick is married to his wife Ashley Lovett.



The couple tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in November 2019. They welcomed their first child, little Jack, in June 2022. "Meet Jack Horgan, my new best friend," Patrick said at the time, introducing his son to the world via social media.

Regardless of the outcome of today's game, fans of hurling took to social media to share their praise for "Hoggie" and his amazing achievement. "Congratulations to Patrick Horgan on becoming the All Time Senior Hurling Championship scorer after beating TJ Reid's record. Hopefully Hoggie will also win a Celtic Cross around 5pm" said one.
