Pune: The Pune police on Wednesday filed a supplementary final report with the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) stating that forgery , criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence, among other charges, have been invoked against the teenage driver in the May 19 Porsche Taycan crash case. Two young software engineers were killed after the high-end car driven by the 17-year-old, son of a city-based builder, crashed into their bike in Kalyaninagar. The minor was returning to his residence in Wadgaon Sheri after visiting a couple of pubs in Mundhwa.

"The first final report (filed with JJB on June 18) mentioned only section 304 (culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code. In the supplementary report, all other charges, including forgery, conspiracy and destruction of evidence, which have been applied against the other accused before a special court, have now been invoked against the teenager," special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray told TOI on the sidelines of Thursday's proceeding before JJB. On Thursday, JJB deferred till Oct 4 the hearing on the Pune police's plea to try the teenager as an adult in the case after defence lawyer Prashant Patil sought time to go through the 200-page supplementary final report.



Patil also sought a combined hearing on all other pleas filed earlier, comprising the one for the return of the teenager's seized passport, return of the Porsche car, and directions to facilitate the minor's admission to a higher course in a city college. Hiray said the sup.
