Almost £20,000 has been raised in just 24 hours to help a Derry family following the tragic death of two young cousins in a horror crash in Co Donegal at the weekend. Cousins Eoghán Dawson and Kían Dawson-Kirk, from Derry, were travelling in a car together when it left the road and struck a wall on the road between Quigley's Point and Carndonagh in Co Donegal on Saturday. Kían, 16, was a front seat passenger in the car and sadly died at the scene.

Eoghán, the 20-year-old driver of the vehicle, was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away later. A fundraiser set up to support the family on Tuesday afternoon has now received more than 800 individual donations over the past 24 hours, with the total amount raised nearing £20,000 by lunchtime on Wednesday.
