Comedian Kim Byung Man has been cleared of assault charges involving his ex-wife. On November 20, a representative from Kim Byung Man’s agency Sky Turtle confirmed to the media, “As of November 19, 2024, all charges against Kim Byung Man were cleared by the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office.” Kim Byung Man recently faced accusations of assaulting his ex-wife (hereafter referred to as “A”).

The police forwarded the case based on A’s testimony and evidence. “A” filed charges against Kim Byung Man for habitual injury, assault, and attempted rape causing injury, submitting 32 claims of abuse along with medical records as proof. However, not all of the 32 claims were substantiated.

The police referred the case to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutor’s Office for further investigation under Article 7 of the Special Act for the Punishment of Domestic Violence, focusing on charges of injury, assault, and attempted rape causing injury. Kim Byung Man’s team responded, stating that he was overseas on the day his ex-wife claimed the assault took place and pointed out that the court had already dismissed this part of the allegation. Previously, Kim Byung Man’s legal representative appeared on a YouTube channel and alleged that “A” had signed up for about 20 life insurances in Kim Byung Man’s name, revealing that the recipient for most of the life insurance was listed as “A.

” In a September 19 interview with a media outlet, “A” denied the allegations.
