Janey Godley shared heartbreaking news on Wednesday that she is receiving "end-of-life" care in hospital after her cancer spread. The Scottish comedian , 63, confirmed she would be going into a hospice after stating she could no longer go through chemotherapy. Janey revealed she had ovarian cancer in November 2021 and despite saying she had received the all clear in 2022, she later announced that another scan had shown signs of the disease in her abdomen.
The star took to Twitter /X on Wednesday to make the devastating update and pre-empted fans who were wondering how long she had left. Part way through her upload, which lasted just over two minutes, she said: "I don't know how long I've got left before anybody asks. I'm not a tick tock.
" She began her upload by saying: "The chemo ran out of options, and I just couldn’t take anymore of it and the cancer has spread. So it looks like this will be getting to near the end of it." She went on to admit it is really difficult to speak about her condition, but was full of positive words for the NHS and its workers as well as her supportive friends and family.
Janey continued: "It is devastating news to know that I'm facing end of life, but we all come to an end sometime." As the emotions started showing more, she added: "I hope you all have a lovely Christmas . Hopefully I might be here.
Who knows? Don't know. I'm not a tick tock. But I just want you all to that I'm sending all my love and support to everybody else out there who is.
