Lipstick Under My Burkha and The Accidental Prime Minister actress Aahana Kumra recently visited Jaipur for a professional engagement, and turned it into a delightful blend of work and leisure. The actress immersed herself in the city's unique experiences, exploring Jaipur like a pro and creating some of her best travel memories. Aahana Kumra experienced Jaipur like a local Aahana Kumra Jaipur has started feeling like a second home Jaipur has started feeling like a second home to me as I keep coming here for various engagements.

I love the culture, food, people, and everything about the city. Now, I have a group of local friends who keep inviting me, and I never hesitate to join them. My frequent visits to Rajasthan have deepened my connection to everything Rajasthani.

This love for the state inspired me to try living like a typical Rajasthani woman. I shared the idea with my local friend, Abhimanyu Singh Tomar, who arranged everything for me. I wore colourful Rajputi poshaks, visited heritage places including Hawa Mahal, took some pictures, enjoyed local delicacies, and had a great time.

I also visited a gaushala and even tried making cow dung cakes. It was a unique experience. Aahana Kumra is inspired by Maharani Gayatri Devi's beauty 'Am deeply inspired by Maharani Gayatri Devi's beauty and grace' Aahana, who takes inspiration from the late Gayatri Devi for her style, also wore a chiffon sari to pay homage.

She adds, “Maharani Gayatri Devi was and will always be the biggest fashion icon. I am deeply inspired by her beauty and grace. To honour her, I dressed up in a chiffon sari and paired it with a pearl necklace.

When people talk about celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, I believe we should also celebrate someone like Gayatri Devi, who belonged to our soil." Aahana Kumra 'Theatre has healed me, and allowed me to switch off from social media' On her love for theatre she says, "Theatre has always been an integral part of my life. It has taught me that there are no retakes in life.

When you make a mistake, you must build upon it and keep going. It teaches you valuable lessons when you forget something or face failure. Everything I have learned about life has come through theatre.

The kind of joy theatre brings me is unmatched. Whenever I am low, sad, or upset, theatre has been a great outlet for me. It has cured me, healed me, and allowed me to switch off from social media, dive into rehearsals for 2-3 months, cut away from the noise, and find my voice as an actor.

It’s like riyaaz for me, giving me the opportunity to hone my skills. Films or auditions don’t offer that kind of experience. I have been doing theatre for more than 20 years and I don’t think I will ever stop.

It allows me instant gratification from my audience. I cry with them, laugh with them, and enjoy performing live for them. My heartbeat is with them.

I have seen people come backstage after a performance and cry. If I can touch even one person with my work, I feel I have made a significant impact, and I am really proud of that..
