The Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has recently summoned Ashish Hemrajani, CEO of BookMyShow, along with a senior team member, to address serious allegations regarding black market ticket sales for the highly anticipated Coldplay concert. This move follows a complaint from advocate Amit Vyas, who expressed concerns about unauthorized ticket sales for the band’s upcoming shows on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, part of their 'Music of the Spheres' World Tour. The controversy began when tickets went on sale through BookMyShow on September 22, 2023.

Many fans were left frustrated as technical issues caused all tickets to sell out in mere seconds. This swift sell-out has led to a surge of resold tickets on various platforms, with prices ballooning from the original range of Rs 2,500 to Rs 35,000, soaring to outrageous figures of up to Rs 3 lakh. Understandably, this has caused outrage among fans, who feel they are being exploited.
