Coco Gauff has expressed her delight at the luxurious state of her locker room for the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The 2024 season finale is being held in the Gulf nation for the first time , following complaints about subpar facilities at last year's event in Cancun. Despite ongoing concerns about Saudi Arabia's human rights record and treatment of women, raised by former players like Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, Gauff is eager to make the most of her experience.
The 20-year-old shared her excitement on Instagram, giving her 1.8 million followers a glimpse of her spacious locker room adorned with a large print of her face and her name in bold letters. The walls were painted in a Royal blue and pink theme.
Gauff then proceeded to showcase a flat-screen TV, a cozy sofa for relaxation, and a spacious bathroom with a marble top and large sink. To the right, a towering wardrobe was present for storing her clothes and equipment. The world's third-ranked player is set to face fellow American Jessica Pegula in the first match of the round robin tournament on Sunday, November 3.
Depending on the outcome, she will then compete against either Barbora Krejicova or Iga Swiatek in the Orange Group as she aims to advance to the later stages in Riyadh.
