Parents are swinging back to vintage names for their newborns, hunting for distinctive options. Colleen Slagen of JoJo Maman Bébé revealed that by 2025, we're likely to see a surge in traditional yet classy names such as Eloise and Dorothy for girls and concise, striking ones for boys. She commented: "Look out for Margot in 2025 as people are looking for feminine, classic-sounding [names like] Margot, Eloise, and Vivian.
" Additionally, she anticipates: "I think we'll start seeing more traditional male names being chosen for girls such as Drew, Noah and Dylan." According to her research highlighted by the Mirror, names previously seen as old-fashioned are now gaining appeal again. "For girls, Louise, Dorothy, Mabel and Maisie are on the rise and for boys it's Arthur, Archie, and Howard," she elaborated.
Colleen has pointed out the top contenders amongst baby boy and girl names currently making waves. Her analysis suggests that names from yesteryear are returning, alongside a trend towards names that are "short and effortless" and typically range from one to two syllables and three to four letters, giving examples like "For example, names like Cal, Mack, Vann and Case for boys and Navy, Indy, Drew, and Reya for girls," Moreover, she notes an increasing preference for boys' names ending in 'o' and girls' names concluding with 'a', reports Coventry Live .
