1 2 3 Varanasi: Kashi, the permanent abode of Lord Shiva, is all set to celebrate the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on Monday with great fervour and devotion. The Kashi Vishwanath temple will be the epicenter of the celebrations. According to Kashi Vishwanath Dham's chief executive officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated at the temple on Monday.

A ceremonial event showcasing the birth rituals of Laddu Gopal, the childhood form of Lord Krishna , will be organized at the temple’ courtyard. The birth celebration will commence at 11 pm and continue with proper rituals until 12.05 am on Tuesday.



After the celebration, consecrated offerings and prasadam will be distributed among the devotees. On Tuesday morning, Laddu Gopal will also participate in the Mangala Aarti of Lord Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev Devotees attending the Mangala Aarti will get the opportunity to seek blessings from both Lord Vishweshwar and Laddu Gopal, the official added. Preparations for the grand celebration of Janmashtami were also underway at police lines as well as all police stations, where tableaux were being decorated.

The main celebration at all these places will take place on Monday night. Similar preparations were evident at ISKON and other temples in the city. Students in various hostels of Banaras Hindu University, especially Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Triveni Women Hostel, Ruiya Hostel, and New PG Girls Hostel, were giving final shape to their tableaux.

Preparations were also evident at Malviya Bhawan and Vishwanath temple for the grand celebration. Meanwhile, city markets are abuzz with buyers purchasing toys and other decoration materials from the outlets mushroomed along the roads before the festival. The city is all set to witness a vibrant and festive celebration of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and devotion to Lord Krishna.
