On Monday, July 22, revealed a brand-new limited edition SR series aircraft. This one-of-a-kind SR aircraft will be delivered as the 10,000th SR series aircraft. The unveiling of the limited edition aircraft came on the opening day of this year's exhibition and airshow, which takes place at Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) in Oshkosh, .

This exhibition is one of the largest aviation events in the world, and during the week-long event, Wittman Regional Airport becomes the busiest airport in the world. This year's event will last from July 22 through July 28. Over 7,500 SR22s have been built since its introduction.

As previously mentioned, the newly unveiled SR aircraft will commemorate the 10,000th aircraft in the family of airplanes. The family began in 1999, with the introduction of the Cirrus SR20. Since then, it has grown to include several upgraded variants of the SR20, as well as several variants of the newer SR22.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cirrus, Zean Nielsen, spoke about the 10,000th aircraft. Nielsen stated, "The SR Series has reached a monumental achievement with 10,000 deliveries and owners that live the Cirrus Life. From the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) to the Perspective Touch+ flight deck, Cirrus continuously innovates to provide owners with personal aircraft that set the industry standard for aviation safety, luxury, convenience and ease of ownership.

We are honored to celebrate 10,000 SR Series aircraft deliveries with our team members, partners and stakeholders." As previously mentioned, the SR20 was introduced in 1999. However, the SR series became popular when the SR22 was released in 2001.

Over the last 22 years, the SR series has been the best-selling single-engine piston aircraft. Cirrus first began developing the famous SR20 in the early 1990s. It was one of the first single-engine aircraft to become certified as a Part 23 aircraft by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the 1990s, due to a struggling general aviation industry.

This aircraft features side-stick flight controls and later models utilized a glass cockpit. The latest variant of the aircraft has the following specifications: Length 26 feet Height Eight feet eleven inches Wingspan 38 feet four inches Gross weight 3,050 pounds Cruise speed 155 knots (178 miles per hour) Range 800 nautical miles (920 miles) Service ceiling 17,500 feet The other aircraft in the SR series is the Cirrus SR22. It was introduced in 2001.

Although it looks similar to the SR20, the SR22 features a larger wing and a much more powerful engine. This helps it reach a higher top speed and further range than the previous model. It was also the first light aircraft with a glass cockpit and features the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), like the SR20.

The SR22 has the following specifications: Length 26 feet Height Eight feet eleven inches Wingspan 38 feet four inches Gross weight 3,600 pounds Cruise speed 213 knots (245 miles per hour) Range 1,021 nautical miles (1,175 miles) Service ceiling 25,000 feet.
