The 75-year-old actor took part in the latest episode of the ITV culinary show and he was competing against comedian Katherine Ryan , 41, for Budget Week.

During Budget Week, each competing celebrity had to create a £3 dish using frozen, tinned, and pantry ingredients. During the episode, Christopher was mentored by chef and former I'm A Celebrity contestant Rosemary Shrager, 73, and he was attempting to rustle up a tasty chickpea, spinach, and potato curry with rice and flatbread. However, his dish didn't go to plan when he accidentally burnt his curry spices, filling the studio with smoke.

Christopher Biggins suffered a huge blunder on Cooking With The Stars on Tuesday as he burnt his curry spices, filling the studio with clouds of smoke The 75-year-old actor took part in the latest episode of the ITV culinary show and he was competing against comedian Katherine Ryan, 41, for Budget Week However, his dish didn't quite go to plan when he accidentally burnt his curry spices, filling the studio with smoke The show, which is presented by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, returned this week with its fourth series and the latest episode saw Christopher and and Katherine cook first. Katherine was mentored by professional chef Jack Stein to make a Spanish-style salt cod stew with chickpeas, red pepper salad, and pan con tomate (Spanish tomato bread), while Christopher made a potato curry. To start, Christopher began by toasting his curry spices in a frying pan and Rosemary advised that toasting them would help 'bring out the flavour'.

However, the spices then began to burn and filled the kitchen with clouds of smoke leaving the other contestants bemused. Fellow contestant Carol Vorderman, 63, asked: 'What's that smoke?' to which Abbey Clancy responded to her with: 'Something's burning.' Ryan then called over to Christopher: 'Are you alright Christopher? What's gone wrong?' However, Christopher insisted: 'No, nothing's wrong'.

Rosemary then shouted at Christopher telling him to take it off and that he will need to start again. Host Tom then approached his bench and asked: 'Biggins I'm very worried that this is smoking, should it be doing that?' During Budget Week, each competing celebrity had to create a £3 dish using frozen, tinned, and pantry ingredients and he was mentored by chef Rosemary Shrager, 73 To start, Christopher began by toasting his curry spices in a frying pan and Rosemary advised that toasting them would help 'bring out the flavour' However, the spices then began to burn and filled the kitchen with clouds of smoke leaving the other contestants bemused However, he dismissed him by claiming it's the 'barbecue effect' he said: 'It's the barbecue effect. I'll ask you to leave now if you don't mind.

' During the chaotic cooking episode, Christopher also struggled to make his flatbread and ended up dropping it. He proceeded to ask Tom to bang his gong for him so his mentor Rosemary could come and help him for the permitted two minutes. However, his burnt spices made his dish bitter and he was sent to the Cook Off by the judges.

Elsewhere in the show, retired athlete Linford Christie, 64, was mentored by Poppy O'Toole and had to prepare a pea risotto with a corn beef crumb and garlic flatbread. Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, 29, was mentored by Shelina Permalloo and had to cook bejewelled rice topped with filo pastry, sweetcorn fritters, and mango chutney. The judges voted for Ellie's dish, which meant Linford landed in the Cook Off against Christopher.

During the chaotic episode, Christopher also struggled to make his flatbread and his curry ended up tasting bitter due to the burnt spices, meaning he was sent to the cook off by the judges Christopher and Linford Christie were given the task to make a pineapple upside-down cake, however, Christopher sadly went home as his mentor blindly voted for Linford's dish The pair were given the task to make a pineapple upside-down cake from scratch and Christopher was accused of 'sabotage' by his fellow celebrities after he encouraged Linford to add more flour to his cake batter. The judging was blind and it was revealed that Christopher's mentor Rosemary had voted for Linford's dish to win.

Christopher laughed as he realised he was being sent home, and Linford claimed it was a 'relief' to survive to cook another week. While discussing Christopher Rosemary joked: 'Do you know what? He did his absolute best. But I had to whip him, you know!'
