Tollywood choreographer Jani Master has been arrested. Accused of rape, Jani was been arrested by the Cyberabad Police from Goa. He is being transferred to Hyderabad and will be produced before the court.

The arrest comes just two days after a 21-year-old woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. In her complaint, she revealed she was a junior choreographer in his team when he sexually abused her. She claimed he abused her for six years during outdoor shoots.



According to the complaint, the accused said these incidents happened in 2019 but she couldn’t speak up as she was being threatened by the choreographer of throwing her out of the industry. Given that the incident took place when she was 16 years old, Jaani has been charged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The complaint has been registered in the Narsingi police of Cyberabad on Wednesday, September 18.

According to The Hindu, the woman filed her complaint in Raidurgam police in Hyderabad and accused him of assaulting her during outdoor shoots. She had been working with Jani for the past few months. He has been booked under clause (2) and (n) of section 376 (rape), criminal intimidation (506) and voluntarily causing hurt (323) of the IPC.

The report also added that Shikha Goel, DG of Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, was approached by the people in the film fraternity to get her guidance on the matter. “I advised them to launch an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and since the allegations also attract criminal charges, they were also told to register a case with the law and order police..
