Tuesday, August 20, 2024 Choice Hotels bolsters its extended stay market leadership by launching three new Everhome Suites locations in Texas, Kentucky, and Kansas, highlighting surging demand. Choice Hotels International , Inc. (NYSE: CHH), a leading global lodging franchisor, is reinforcing its dominance in the extended stay market with the commencement of three new Everhome Suites locations in San Antonio, Texas; Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Wichita, Kansas.
Developed in partnership with Highside Companies, these new sites, along with eight others launched earlier this year, highlight Choice’s pioneering role in the extended stay sector, which currently faces demand twice as high as supply. Currently, Choice Hotels operates four Everhome Suites, with 65 more planned, over 20 under construction, and more than 15 set to open within the next year. By the end of Q2 2024, the company has nearly 400 hotels in development across its four extended stay brands.
The new Everhome Suites in San Antonio will be the sixth property under construction in Texas. The demand for this market is largely driven by manufacturing, with Bowling Green serving as the home to Fruit of the Loom’s corporate headquarters and production facility, as well as facilities for General Motors, Henkel Corporation, Georgia-Pacific, Ball Corporation, and Toyota.
The hotel is conveniently close to Western Kentucky University, the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and several hospitals, including Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital, TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, The Medical Center at Bowling Green, and Southern Kentucky Rehab Hospital. The hotel is planned to open in November 2025. Everhome Suites San Antonio : Located at 619 N Hunt Lane, this hotel will also have 115 rooms.
Positioned alongside Texas Highway 151 and Highway 410, the property offers easy access to San Antonio International Airport and Lackland Air Force Base, the primary location for U.S. Air Force enlisted basic military training.
The hotel is within a five-mile radius of major corporate centers such as the JPMorgan Chase Operations Center, Nationwide Insurance, Capital Group, and a large Wells Fargo Home Mortgage operation and connection center. The hotel’s opening is anticipated for November 2025. Everhome Suites Wichita : Situated at 3880 N Rock Road, about three miles southwest of Wichita State University, this hotel will include 123 rooms.
The demand in this market stems from a mix of military, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors, with Spirit Aerosystems, Textron Aviation, and Bombardier Learjet headquarters and manufacturing facilities based in Wichita. The city is also home to McConnell Air Force Base. The hotel is anticipated to open in the fall of 2025.
