On Friday, Mohe’s ski resort, celebrated for offering China’s longest ski season that spans from November until mid-to-late April, kicked off its fresh snow season. The arrival of tourists has unlocked fresh economic opportunities in Beiji Village, home to Mohe’s ski resort. Locals have embraced new roles, stepping into positions as guesthouse operators, restaurant owners, and tour guides, bringing vitality to the area’s economy. This winter, Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang, will host its renowned Ice-Snow World theme park across an impressive one million square meters, expanding from last year’s 810,000 square meters.
The park will use 300,000 cubic meters of ice and snow—an increase from 250,000 cubic meters—to create intricate sculptures like castles and towers. The design and construction will incorporate themes from the upcoming ninth Asian Winter Games, scheduled in Harbin from February 7-14, 2025, where over 1,500 athletes from 34 countries and regions are anticipated to compete, marking a record-breaking participation.
