Thursday, October 3, 2024 China Southern Airlines is expanding its presence in the Australian market with the addition of two new routes from Beijing Daxing Airport (PKX), slated to begin in December 2024. These new services aim to strengthen connectivity between China and Australia, catering to the increasing demand for travel between the two countries. Starting on December 13, China Southern will launch flights from Beijing Daxing to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport , operating four times per week using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

This marks the airline’s first-ever route from PKX to Australia, expanding its network in the region. The A330-300 used on this route offers a dual-class configuration, providing a premium experience with 28 business-class seats and 258 economy-class seats . The following day, on December 14 , the airline will roll out its second new service, connecting Beijing Daxing to Melbourne Airport , with three weekly flights .



Like the Sydney route, these flights will also be operated by A330-300 aircraft, offering the same business and economy seating configuration. Both of these new routes are scheduled to operate for an initial 10-week season to assess demand and performance. China Southern already maintains a strong presence in the China-Australia market with four existing nonstop routes .
