1 2 Prayagraj: The passengers will soon be able to use the second entry and exit gate for the Chheoki railway station of Prayagraj Division , North Central Railway (NCR) from platform number four side. The work is expected to complete ahead of begining of Maha Kumbh in January 2025. Moreover, with the under-construction railway over bridge (FoB), coming up at the Howrah end of the station, nearing its completion, it would become very convenient for the passengers to use the second gate of Chheoki railway station.
Chheoki railway station caters to the maximum number of trains on the Mumbai route. Apart from this, the station will be equipped with many more facilities on par with those at Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central station. The station is on the way to get enhanced facilities after it received the coveted status of Non-Sub-Urban Group-2 (NSG-2) station on Sep 10, as per a letter issued by Railway Board.
This has come as yet another achievement for the Prayagraj Division making it the third railway station in this category in the division. Earlier, Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central had been given this status. According to the Railways rules, after an annual income of Rs 100 crore, the status of the station elevates to NSG-2 from NSG-3.
In the past few years, due to shifting of several trains to this station, the movement of passengers has increased here multifold leading to a rise in the income. After joining the Rs 100 crore earning club, the station will get fac.
