Friday, November 15, 2024 As Diwali celebrations illuminated the nation, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) rose to the occasion, handling over 4.42 million passengers in October 2024. The festive season saw a substantial uptick in both domestic and international traffic as travelers flocked to commemorate the Festival of Lights.

During this period, CSMIA served more than 3.16 million domestic passengers and over 1.25 million international passengers.



The airport’s continued success highlights its exceptional efficiency and growing prominence as a top-tier travel hub. On October 26, 2024, CSMIA reached a new milestone, recording its busiest day of the month with 939 aircraft movements (ATMs), a testament to its ability to manage high traffic volumes. Overall, the airport recorded 19,848 domestic and 7,222 international ATMs in October, driven by a broader array of travel options for passengers.

CSMIA saw strong traffic performance across key destinations. Among domestic routes, Delhi, Bangalore, and Goa emerged as the top three, with Delhi leading the pack at 0.58 million passengers.

Internationally, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and London were the most popular destinations. This diverse connectivity underscores CSMIA’s critical role as a vital gateway for both business and leisure travel. In terms of international traffic, the Middle East accounted for the largest share, with 51% of total international passenger movements.
