Madhavi received a memo on August 6 charging her with dereliction of duty, not coming to work during working hours, and disobeying senior orders. However, she claims the only order she disobeyed was wearing lipstick, which she believes is a personal choice. In her response to the memo, Madhavi asked the mayor’s office to furnish proof of her tardiness and instances of disobeying senior orders.
