A Cheltenham shop which was forced to closed due is set to reopen this weekend. The shop was heavily damaged as the ceiling collapsed and stock was damaged due to the heavy rainfall. Fashion, homeware and art retailer MIMMO Studios, in Montpellier Walk, on September 20 due to flooding after heavy rainfall.

The , housed in a historic Victorian building, was significantly impacted by the heavy rains which along Montpellier Terrace. The force of the water caused part of MIMMO’s ceiling to collapse, dislodged lighting fixtures, and damaged stock and shop fittings. Even their coffee machine was not spared, as water poured into the store during the downpour.



The shop was unable to operate for several days as rain continued, and concerns over the safety of the building prevented trading. Unfortunately, many other shops on the street faced similar issues, with sections of ceilings coming down and scaffolding already in place for repairs. MIMMO Studios was founded in 2021 by Lil Gardiner and Katie Brown.

The store good has been cherry-picked products from ethically driven brands that prioritise innovation, recycled materials, circular design, and low-waste production, deliberately steering clear of mass manufacturing. In a joint statement, MIMMO Studios founders Katie Brown and Lil Gardiner said: "We’ve had some damage to the shop, but we’re always trying to see the positive. We’ve felt incredibly supported by our customers and the local community throughout this tough time.
